SUMMARY:Trailblazer Race
DESCRIPTION:Workout Bonus — Benefit Yourself and a Worthy Cause\nThe Stevens and Permanente Creek Trails and wildlife corridors need you! You can make a difference by participating in the 27th Annual Trailblazer Race\, which benefits the Friends of Stevens Creek Trail. You will support a worthy cause and yourself as you take charge of your mental and physical well-being. \nThis year’s race format will again be virtual. While we are all anxious to return to a live\, in-person event\, the reality is that they take significant planning efforts months in advance. Early this year\, given the uncertainty of future mask mandates and social distancing requirements\, we chose to prioritize the safety of our participants and opted for a virtual format. \nUnique to Going Virtual\nA virtual race means you can run or walk anywhere at any time of day. We give you entry into all three of our events (5K\, 10K or 3-Mile Walk) with a single registration; participate in as many as you like. Invite family and friends from anywhere for additional encouragement or friendly competition.  \nRun or walk as often as you wish between September 17-September 26 and upload your best time! Sharing results is completely optional. We encourage all to participate regardless of age or fitness level!  \nDates: Friday\, September 17 – Sunday\, September 26\nParticipate any time or day between September 17 and September 26. Deadline to upload 5K and/or 10K results is Monday\, September 27. \nEvents: 5K Run\, 10K Run\, 3-Mile Walk\nWalk results are not timed or able to be uploaded. If you choose not to upload 5K or 10K results that’s okay too – we encourage participation! Timed 5K or 10K results can be submitted by downloading the ItsYourRace app or sending an email to On Your Mark Events.  \nRoute: Any route you choose\, even on the treadmill\, qualifies. \nFees: $40 all ages\, all events— 5K\, 10K or 3-Mile Walk\nEntry fee covers one or all three events. Fees are non-refundable. \nT-Shirt: All paid registrants receive a Trailblazer Race T-shirt. They are Hanes Extra Beefy T’s\, soft and 100% cotton with minimal to no shrinkage. (If you’ve participated before you know how great they are!) You will receive your shirt by mail 4-6 weeks after the event. Shipping to outside the U.S. is not available. \nGo the Extra Mile for the Trail!\nThis critical fundraiser benefits the Friends of Stevens Creek Trail\, a publicly supported 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 1992. We foster local efforts in Sunnyvale\, Mountain View\, Cupertino\, Los Altos and Santa Clara County to create multi-use trails along Stevens Creek and Permanente Creek and to preserve and protect their wildlife corridors.  \nThe Stevens Creek Trail currently extends over five miles from Shoreline Park to Dale-Heatherstone in Mountain View\, close to the Sunnyvale border. Cupertino opened its first section of trail in 2010 and just completed a 0.3 mile extension from McClellan Ranch to Linda Vista Park. Los Altos and Sunnyvale are studying possible connecting routes. Individual cities and jurisdictions along Stevens Creek actually build the trail\, but it takes many years of preparation and hard work behind the scenes to achieve. Increasing public awareness\, support\, and consensus must come first. The Friends strive to achieve that.  \nWe believe that urban trails and easy access to nature are more important than ever. We envision a continuous trail from the Santa Cruz Mountains to the San Francisco Bay\, a gift for the entire community to be treasured for generations to come. We greatly appreciate your support. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. \nONLINE REGISTRATION
