DESCRIPTION:The 11.2-mile\, individually timed ride climbs 3\,249 feet to the summit of Mt. Diablo starting up South Gate Road. Mt. Diablo is one of the highest peaks in the San Francisco Bay Area\, with views of the Farallon Islands and the Sierras. The road is closed for safety and more than 800 cyclists will ride to the summit.  The ride welcomes all ages\, abilities\, teams\, and bicycle types.  It will be a once-a-year opportunity to enjoy riding the mountain without cars.  Everyone celebrates after the ride with free BBQ\, prizes\, awards\, and live music.  Come participate in this epic ride that provides breathtaking scenery and test your climbing ability.\nAdditional Information/Registration

SUMMARY:Mare Island Half Marathon\, 10K & 5K Run
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for your interest in the 2022 Mare Island Half sponsored by the Mare Island Brewing Company. We will be running from the Mare Island Brewing Company coal shed location on Mare Island and stay on the island for the full race. \nHalf Marathon course will take you along the historic naval yard on the east side of the island\, to the highest point of Mare Island for beautiful views of the Bay\, Mt. Diablo\, and Mt. Tamalpais. It will then run you down by the Old Admiral housing and out to the Mare Island portion of the San Pablo Bay trail on the western side of the island. The 10K will take you by the Old Admiral housing and the San Pablo Bay Trail before heading to the finish. The 5K race will run by the Old Admiral housing before heading to the finish. All courses are still going through the approval process and some tweaks may be made\, but the overall feel for the race should not alter too much. Parts of the run through the San Pablo Bay Trail are unpaved. \nAdditional Information/Registration

DESCRIPTION:The Wounded Warriors 5K Run is part of the Not Forgotten Memorial Day Weekend Celebrations.  For additional information and schedule of events\, please visit www.thememorialweekend.com.
