HERS Breast Cancer Foundation Walk/Run

The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation’s 5K/10K Run/Walk and Community Expo brings hundreds of breast cancer patients, survivors, and supports from all over the Bay Area. Gathering for fun and exercise, we rally family, friends and neighbors to raise funds to benefit survivors.
The money raised via donations and fundraising goes to support our programs. These programs provide specialty bras, prostheses, wigs, and Lymphedema garments that help individuals heal and feel whole after breast cancer treatment. With your generous donations, we can provide their products and services regardless of a client’s ability to pay.

Course ~ Both the 5K & 10K are scenic runs through the packed gravel trails circling through Quarry Lakes Park. Please note that the course is not USATF certified. The distance has been measured and is approximate. No bikes or skateboards on course. Walkers are welcome!

T-Shirts ~ Participants 18 years & over receive a free t-shirt as part of their registration. If you register on the day of the event, we cannot guarantee that you will receive a t-shirt. You can help us plan more accurately by registering early, so we know your size! Note, children under age 18 will only receive a t-shirt after the event, if available.
Virtual Runners ~ Will be mailed a custom t-shirt. For more information, please see our website.
Awards ~ Presented to the top runners in each event (5K and 10K Run). Medals three deep in the following age groups for the 5K Run 13 & under, 14-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 & 80+. 10K Run – 18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 & 70+. All participants receive a finishers medal.

Day of Schedule ~
7:00 am – 9:00 am – Check-in/Race Day registration opens
8:00 am – Opening Ceremony “Elaine’s Circle”, including special tribute in memory and honor of Breast Cancer Survivors
8:45 am – Pre-event Warm-ups
9:00 am – 10K Runners start
9:15 am – 5K Runners start
9:20 am – 5K Walkers start
