The Kid’s Dash Fun Run promotes the benefits of a healthy lifestyle to children. Ages  6 & under – 20 yards\, ages 7-9 – 1/4 mile\, ages 10-12 – 1/2 mile..\n\n \nAwards:\nTop overall male/female 5K finishers. Top 3 male/female age age groups 12 & under\, 13-15\, 16-18\, 19-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59 60+  Participants will receive a CASA Super hero cape. Top winners will receive a medal. Kids 12 & under participating tin the “Kids Dash Fun Run will receive a CASA Superhero cape. DESCRIPTION:25th Annual Trailblazer Race\nThe Trailblazer Race is a morning of fun and healthy activities for the whole family. The USATF certified 10K & 5K races are scenic\, fast and flat running courses. The 3-mile (5K) round trip Trail Walk into Don Edwards Wildlife Refuge in San Francisco Bay is scenic and level for comfortable walking. There are free kids’ activities for toddlers to age 10\, festival area with snacks\, exhibits and prize drawings. \nGreat Race for a Great Cause\nProceeds benefit the Friends of Stevens Creek Trail\, a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation\, and the only organization dedicated to extending Stevens Creek Trail and wildlife corridor from San Francisco Bay to the Santa Cruz Mountains. \nLocation:\n2905 N. Shoreline Blvd.\, Mountain View\, CA 94043 \nRace Day Schedule:\n7:30 am – Check-in and Race-day Registration opens\n8:30 am – 10K Run and 3-Mile Walk Start\n8:45 am – 5K Start\n9:45 am – Kids Races Start \nRoute:\nAll Events start and finish just inside Shoreline Park. There is ample free parking available. The 5K & 10K Races circle Shoreline Park counter-clockwise\, with the 5K Race circling back near the boat house. Walkers go up Stevens Creek Trail to the Bay Trail and north into Don Edwards Wildlife Preserve and return.  \nNo Dogs:\nDogs are strictly prohibited at both Shoreline Park and Don Edwards as they are sensitive wildlife refuge areas. \nStrollers\nThe 5K/10K race courses are asphalt and stroller friendly as long as you start and stay with your pace group. Double-wide strollers are not recommended. The 3-mile walk is on a flat but gravel surface. \nAwards/Age Divisions\n10K – Trophies to overall Male/Female and Masters (age 50+).  Medals three deep Male/Female in age divisions: 12 & under\, 13-19\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70 & over.\n5K – Trophies to overall Male/Female and Masters (age 50+). Medals three deep Male/Female in age divisions 9 & under\, 10-12\, 13-18\, 19-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60-69\, 70-79\, 80+. \nAll Paid Participants Receive:\nCustom Event T-Shirt\nRefreshments\nPrize Drawing Ticket \n5K/10K Participants Also Receive Online:\nOfficial chipped timed results\nDownloadable finisher certificate\nFinish line photos \nFree Kids Activities for Children\nThere are free activities for children in the festival area including a toddler run on grass and a one-mile run for older children (~4-10). Children who participate in the run will receive a ribbon. There are no T-shirts for the free events. Parents must register children to participate in any of the activities on-site and remain with their children at all times. \nRace Packets:\nAll registrations completed online by September 14th will receive their race bibs in the mail. For those that register after September 14th race packets will be available for pick up race morning. Check-in and race day registration opens at 7:30 am. \nT-Shirts:\nYour requested size T-shirt is guaranteed if you register by September 10th. Everyone else will receive their requested shirt size on a first-come\, first-serve basis. Come to packet pick up early for a better chance to get the size you want. Size exchanges may be done after registration closes if there are any leftover shirts. \nWhat Size to Order?\nWe use Hanes Extra Beefy T’s. They are 100% cotton and have minimal to no shrinkage.\nAdult Chest Size: S 34-36\, M 38-40\, L 42-44\, XL 46-48\, 2XL 50-52\nChildren’s Sizes:  Small 6-7\, Medium 8-10\, Large 12-14 \nVolunteers\nVolunteers are needed from 7 am to 11 am to help set-up\, direct and cheer participants along the courses\, serve food and water\, manage the children’s activities and help clean-up. All volunteers receive a free race T-shirt\, refreshments and entry into our prize drawing. Registration by September 10th is recommended. Groups are welcome. A guardian’s signature is required if under 18 years old. To sign-up go to stevenscreektrail.org. \nOur Premiere Event of the Year\nThe Trailblazer Race raises community awareness and essential funds allowing us to promote community involvement and pride in the completion\, enhancement and enjoyment of trails and wildlife corridors in the Stevens Creek watershed. \nStevens Creek Trail was started in 1993 and currently extends over 5 miles from Shoreline Park to Dale-Heatherstone in Mountain View\, close to the Sunnyvale border. Cupertino opened its first section of trail in 2010. Los Altos and Sunnyvale are studying possible connecting routes. Individual cities along Stevens Creek actually build the trail\, but it takes many years of preparation and hard work behind the scenes to achieve that. Increasing public awareness\, support\, and consensus must come first\, which is what the Friends does.
