SUMMARY:Mare Island Half Marathon\, 10K & 5K Run
DESCRIPTION:Thank you for your interest in the 2022 Mare Island Half sponsored by the Mare Island Brewing Company. We will be running from the Mare Island Brewing Company coal shed location on Mare Island and stay on the island for the full race. \nHalf Marathon course will take you along the historic naval yard on the east side of the island\, to the highest point of Mare Island for beautiful views of the Bay\, Mt. Diablo\, and Mt. Tamalpais. It will then run you down by the Old Admiral housing and out to the Mare Island portion of the San Pablo Bay trail on the western side of the island. The 10K will take you by the Old Admiral housing and the San Pablo Bay Trail before heading to the finish. The 5K race will run by the Old Admiral housing before heading to the finish. All courses are still going through the approval process and some tweaks may be made\, but the overall feel for the race should not alter too much. Parts of the run through the San Pablo Bay Trail are unpaved. \nAdditional Information/Registration

We will be starting from the Mare Island Brewing Company coal shed location\, running through over 100 years of Naval history and natural beauty\, with a finish line party at the Mare Island Brew Co Coal Sheds! \nOur Half Marathon course will take you through the historic naval yard along the east side of the island\, to the highest point of Mare Island for beautiful views of the Bay\, Mt. Diablo\, and Mt. Tamalpais. It will then run you down by the Old Admiral housing including St Peter’s Chapel (with the largest collection of Tiffany stainied glass in the West!) and out to the sweeping views of the Mare Island portion of the San Pablo Bay trail on the western side of the island. The 10K will take you by the Old Admiral housing and the San Pablo Bay Trail before heading to the finish. The 5K race will run by the Old Admiral housing before heading to the finish. \nAll participants will receive a tech shirt and finishers medal. DESCRIPTION:26th Annual Trailblazer Race\nWith the pandemic\, it is uncertain if it will be safe to hold our conventional fall race in Mountain View. Realizing that many in our community like to participate in some sort of an event\, we are hosting a virtual race allowing us to continue our long-standing tradition. By participating\, you will not only support a worthy cause but have an opportunity to take charge of your mental and physical well-being. What better way than getting some exercise? With a virtual race you can run or walk anywhere and invite your friends regardless of their location to participate with you! All proceeds help us advocate for the Stevens Creek and Permanent Creek trails—their extension and improvements as well as protection of the wildlife corridors—a gift for the entire community. \nGreat Race for a Great Cause\nProceeds benefit the Friends of Stevens Creek Trail\, a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation\, and the only organization dedicated to extending Stevens Creek Trail and wildlife corridor from San Francisco Bay to the Santa Cruz Mountains. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. \nCovid Considerations\nIdeally\, come September you’ll still be able to go for a run\, hike or walk on the Stevens Creek or Permanente Creek Trails\, but even if the trails are closed\, you can still participate. You may run or walk at any time between September 18-27 making it easier to maintain social distance. To avoid contact with race organizers\, all T-shirts will be sent by mail after the race. Cupertino opened its first section of trail in 2010 and has over one mile completed. Los Altos and Sunnyvale are studying possible connecting routes. Individual cities along Stevens Creek actually build the trail\, but it takes many years of preparation and hard work behind the scenes to achieve. Increasing public awareness\, support\, and consensus must come first\, which is the role of the Friends. DESCRIPTION:This event is postponed and is being combined with the Vallejo Waterfront Half Marathon\, 10K & 5K\, on October 3\, 2020\nWe are so excited to host another running event on beautiful Mare Island! All finishers 21yrs and up will receive a FREE BEER thanks to our major sponsor the MARE ISLAND BREWING COMPANY! We will have a Half Marathon\, 10K and 5K courses taking you through natural and historic sections of the island. We will be starting from the Mare Island Brewing Company coal shed location\, running through over 100 years of Naval history and natural beauty\, with a finish line party at the Mare Island Brew Co Coal Sheds! \nOur Half Marathon course will take you through the historic naval yard along the east side of the island\, to the highest point of Mare Island for beautiful views of the Bay\, Mt. Diablo\, and Mt. Tamalpais. It will then run you down by the Old Admiral housing including St Peter’s Chapel (with the largest collection of Tiffany stainied glass in the West!) and out to the sweeping views of the Mare Island portion of the San Pablo Bay trail on the western side of the island. \nThe 10K will take you by the Old Admiral housing and the San Pablo Bay Trail before heading to the finish. \nThe 5K race will run by the Old Admiral housing before heading to the finish. \nAll participants will receive a tech shirt and finishers medal. Awards will be available for Male and Female of every category. We expect to have categories of <20\, 20-29\, 30-39\, 40-49\, 50-59\, 60+ \nShirt sizes will only be guaranteed for registrations prior to June 1st. Any registrations after that will be on a first come first serve on the sizes that are ordered. This event may sell out and day of registration is not guarenteed. Refunds will also not be given \nEvent details and schedule \nCourse Info: \nThe run will be through the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard. This does include abandon railroad tracks and uneven surfaces. Parts of the run through the San Pablo Bay Trail are unpaved but its is a compacted gravel path. Course subject to change for safety reasons if deemed necessary. \nWater Stations: \nHalf Marathon: 2.5M\, 5M\, 6.3M\, 8M\, 9.8M \nArrival Info: \nThe breezeway which will be where Check-in is held will be in the doors below the large floor to ceiling window in between the wood paneling. There is also a picture to the right with course maps which is taken from the street. \nPlease arrive with plenty of time before your event start time. SUMMARY:Chinese New Year Run
DESCRIPTION:The 42nd Chinese New Year 5k/10k run is an annual fundraiser benefiting the Chinatown YMCA’s Physical Education Program (PEP) and Community Center Programs\, which serves 1\,200 students and families in Chinatown each week. This scenic route starts at Sacramento and Grant\, winds its way through Chinatown and North Beach and finishes on Kearny between California and Sacramento. \nCOURSE OVERVIEW: Our Course is a 5K RUN/WALK or a 10K RUN (no 10K walkers\, please) and starts at 8:00AM on Grant Avenue/Sacramento Street. It finishes at 9:30am on Kearny/Sacramento Street. The course has some short hills but is mostly flat. Mile markers along the way are on the right side of the course. The 5K is one time around the course and the 10K is two loops around the course. Please see the course map below.​ \nCourse Map\nPARKING: Portsmouth Square Garage (Kearny St. @ Clay St.) and Sutter Stockton Garage (333 Sutter St. @ Stockton St.) Post Race: Join us at Portsmouth Square for post-event awards\, refreshments\, and fun for the family! \nAWARDS: Top finishers in each category (male and female for youth and adult) will receive special awards from our generous sponsors.
